Highlights

Côn Đảo National Park is the most successful site in Vietnam for sea turtle conservation and rescue programs, making a significant contribution to the national and regional biodiversity strategy. In 2009, the Vietnam Book of Records recognized two records for this national park:

  1. The place in Vietnam that breeds and releases the most sea turtles into the wild.
  2. The only national park that has complete ecosystems.

ITINERARY

ĐẢO LỚN – HÒN 7 CẠNH (Lunch – Dinner)

  • Pick-up from the hotel and transfer to the port (Central).
  • Speedboat takes you to Hòn Bảy Cạnh.
  • 45 minutes of exploring Côn Đảo’s biodiversity:
    1. Swimming, snorkeling to observe corals and fish.
    2. Enjoy drinks and fruits on the speedboat.
    3. Walk through the mangrove forest.
  • Arrive at the Forest Ranger Station, check-in, and free time for exploration.
  • Dinner at the Forest Ranger Station.
  • The guide takes guests to see where the Xe Tang crabs, the largest land crabs in Vietnam and the Indochina Peninsula, search for food.
  • Return to the Forest Ranger Station for an introduction to the sea turtle life cycle, conservation efforts, and how to approach mother turtles coming to the beach to lay eggs.
  • Free time to rest, then the guide wakes up the guests to see the turtles laying eggs during high tide.
  • Overnight stay at Hòn Bảy Cạnh.

LEAVING THE TURTLE ISLAND – RETURN TO ĐẢO LỚN

  • 05:00 Morning exercise, experience a walk around the beach or the mangrove area
  • 05:40 Release baby sea turtles back to the ocean (if the turtle nest has hatched).
  • Breakfast.
  • Two options for returning to Đảo Lớn: 7:00 AM or 10:30 AM.
  • Departure to Đảo Lớn, end of the memorable experience.
